Karen McBee, a Marvin member, spent the summer working at Yellowstone National park as a park ranger. "When I was in my 20s, I began working at Yellowstone in one of the lodging facilities. Later, I began volunteering for the park service at Yellowstone and then Tetons. When I retired from college teaching, I was able to apply for a summer/fall park ranger position," she said.
Marvin members Celia and David Tucker planned a great road trip to the northwest to visit Yellowstone. They didn't know Karen, but another Marvin member made the connection and put them in contact with each other. "She (Celia) asked if they could bring me anything from church. I said, 'Yes, a copy of the Upper Room!'”
Karen got her devotional book and they all made new Marvin friends.
