You're invited to join the VENTURES on adventures around East Texas. VENTURES is a group of adults, mainly senior adults but everyone's invited, who travel together. Most of the traveling consists of day trips with occasional overnight journeys and other special events. Visit places like Jefferson, presidential museums, a local historic plantation and more. ROSELAND PLANTATION
On Thursday, Sept. 26, we will experience the charming elegance of the Old South, at the Roseland Plantation. The tour of Roseland Plantation covers a rich and unusual Plantation history. The plantation house was built in 1854 and is an architectural showplace built in the Greek Revival style. The day will include an elegant afternoon tea. The registration fee is $20 per person. Space is limited to 24.
THE AMERICAN FREEDOM MUSEUM
On Thursday, Oct. 24, we will experience The American Freedom Museum. This adventure promises to be a remarkable experience that you will never forget as you travel through America’s rich history. You will take an inspiring journey through Americas story where you will experience crucial moments in our nation’s history, battle by battle, as men, women and familes, courageosly fought and struggled to make us into the great nation we are today. From the hills and valleys of the American Revolution to the sands of Iraq and Afghanistan, you will discover the journey of those in our nations military as they have heroically sacrificed to ensure the freedoms that we have today. Covering 15,000 square feet and more 650 artifacts, the Museum’s two galleries, The Hall of Presidents and the Hall of American Freedom, depict America’s continuous fight for freedom throughout our history.
Together we will enjoy lunch at Benito’s Italian Restaurant, a quaint little family owned restaurant in the heart of Bullard. The registration fee is $30 per person and includes entry to the museum and lunch. Space is limited.
