Jonathan Becker

Director of Student Ministries

On a daily basis, Jonathan continues to be blown away by the love and support of the congregation at Marvin, along with the staff who are more welcoming and encouraging than he could have ever imagined. 

With a passion for ministering to students, Jonathan wants to help every student within the student ministry find his or her calling in God's Kingdom and to live out the love and freedom that Jesus freely gives to all who ask in faith. Jonathan wants the atmosphere of the student ministry to be one that every student looks forward to and is the highlight of their week. Through the student ministry, students will make friendships and memories that will last a lifetime, but Jonathan desires that "they come into a passionate relationship with Jesus that will last for an eternity." 

Jonathan graduated from Wesley Biblical Seminary with an M.A. in Biblical Literature. Before serving at Marvin, he served as a college minister, a hospitality minister, and as the Dean of Students at Jacksonville College where he also taught Biblical Studies and Philosophy. In his free time outside of the ministry, Jonathan is passionate about tennis, which he coached collegiately for a few years, watching baseball, and playing pickleball. If he is not playing pickleball, he is talking theology or watching Star Wars and the rest of the original 1990's and early 2000's Nickelodeon television shows.
