Throughout Lent
Lent is a season of 40 days, not counting Sundays, which begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday (before Easter). It is a season of reflection and preparation: We reflect on our need for a Savior and we prepare to celebrate the victory of Christ, raised from the dead on Easter Sunday.
Midweek Meditation with prayer-time after each service is a weekly opportunity to experience reflective scripture reading and receive the sacrament of Holy Communion. During the season of Lent make plans to come and stay afterwards for extended and guided prayer. The service is at 12:05 p.m. each Wednesday in the chapel.
Lilies and fans
Honor or remember a loved one by ordering Easter lilies to decorate the church or fans to help keep an East Texan cool this summer. Fans will be distributed by local agencies to help people in need. Cost is $20 each, and the deadline to order is Friday, March 31. Pick up an order form in the Welcome Center or click here to order online ($1 convenience fee added).
Easter Offering for Missions
Our Easter Offering for Missions benefits four outstanding partner ministries: Hiway 80 Rescue Mission in Tyler, Vida Abundante Methodist Church, St. Paul Children’s Services and UMCOR (Methodist Committee on Relief). Each of these Christ-centered ministries makes a real difference in the world as they meet physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
To help make a difference, just mark your contribution “Easter Offering for Missions” mail or bring your donation to the church or give online by Easter Sunday, April 9.
