You're invited for special services, music programs and events, plus wonderful celebrations of the resurrection - traditional and modern.

what is lent?

Lent is a season of 40 days, not counting Sundays, which begins on Ash Wednesday (Feb. 14 this year) and ends on Holy Saturday (before Easter). It is a season of reflection and preparation: We reflect on our need for a Savior and we prepare to celebrate the victory of Christ, raised from the dead on Easter Sunday.

Weekly fast | During the season of Lent many people give something up as an expression of their dependence upon Christ. Additionally, some people take something on. Consider fasting from one meal a week. Rather than eating lunch on Wednesday, come to Midweek communion services and receive the sacrament of holy communion.

Altar'd: The Transforming Power of Surrender is our church-wide message series for Lent.

We want change, but at what cost?
Altars have always represented change. They are the places where sacred space meets our surrender and leads into authentic spiritual transformation.
From the beginning of time, God’s people have built altars to mark the places where God spoke, gave direction or gave his blessing. It is the place where God’s people surrendered offerings to him in obedience. In the New Testament, Jesus became that surrendered offering, but he also became the place—in his person—for those who were hurting, lost, and who longed to encounter God.
In the midst of a world filled with chaos and disappointment, pain and death, there is a promise of restoration and transformation. However, it isn’t found at the end of our lives, but at the end of ourselves.
It is found when we embrace surrender.
